Arianna Verbree, in partnership with Là Là Studio, presents Queer Folks!, taking place at Live on Elgin on August 22nd, and featuring a variety of live musicians including Tina Wallace, Kit Boulter, and Jack Pine. We're proud to bring Queer Folks! to Live on Elgin for the first time. Queer Folks! will feature queer musicians from the Ottawa region playing a variety of acoustic, indie, and folk music on the Monday night of the Capital Pride festival.
Jack Pine (Ottawa Singer/Songwriter/Producer Gareth Auden-Hole) grew up with his head in the city and his heart in the northern wild. Enthralled with musique, from a very young age he fed his ears a steady diet of Toms [Waits, Yorke, Petty] and just about anything else he could get his hands on. In September 2015, Jack Pine released his solo Lone Wolf EP, a delightfully raw, live-off-the-floor recording that makes full use of the ambient acoustics of the stone chapel in which it was recorded.
Tina Wallace really has no idea what she's doing, but she's winging it...all of it. She is a full-time content creator, turning scripts into tv shows for people in suits, making silly videos on the internet for tiktok, drawing on her instagram and singing for you. She's always felt she had a story to tell, and what that entails will depend on how nice her therapist was this morning.
Grayce Aromantic (Singer/Songwriter/Walking Disaster Arianna Verbree) Is The Sound and the Fury. All guts and no glory, her performances capture an audience’s attention and refuses to let go. She also refuses to listen when people try to tell her that punk music and folk music are not just the same thing with different instruments.
