Sherry Ryan

Sherry Ryan at LIVE! on Elgin
With Guest Emma Lamontagne

Sherry Ryan:
Raised on a land fertile for songs and storytelling, Sherry Ryan has been winning hearts across the country as one of Newfoundland’s finest singer-songwriters. Compared to John Prine for “reeling you in with her heartfelt stories and a hint of humour” and named “St. John’s answer to Lucinda Williams”, Sherry has earned nation-wide attention and multiple MUSIC NL awards and nominations. Sherry’s fourth album, Wreckhouse, takes its name from the song ‘Stop The Trains’; a gem of a tune voted best song in the province by The Overcast Peoples Choice Awards in 2018. Her instantly recognizable voice radiates on this Newfoundland classic in the making. Sherry release’s her 5th album ‘Shout for More’ this fall.

Emma Lamontagne:
At a statuesque six-foot-one, itʼs hard not to notice Ottawa singer-songwriter, Emma Lamontagne. Currently focused on contemporary pop, she is most noted for her emotional live performances, receiving recognition from Linda Perry, John Mellencamp, Alan Frew, and others. Previously the 2016 winner of the RBC Bluesfest “She’s the One” competition, she is fresh off the cycle of her 2019 FACTOR-funded debut album and is ready to set her sights on what’s next.
