At 16 years old, Ottawa native Sarah Scriver is turning heads and winning over hearts of all ages. Her sophomore EP "Mind over Matter" demonstrates not only Sarah's wide vocal range, guitar and piano playing skills, but also her incredibly mature song writing abilities. As a survivor of concussions, amnesia, depression and a seizure disorder all endured from extreme bullying, Sarah has become a beacon of hope and an advocate for not only troubled teens, but anyone who has been through these extreme hardships. "The human body goes through 5 stages of grief after a trauma: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and hope. Mind Over Matter is a mantra I've lived by since I was a little girl" explains Scriver. "From the denial in Hushed, the anger in Flare, the bargaining in The Story Of Us, the depression in Karma's Gonna Get You, to the hope in House Of Cards" this EP is for anyone going through this cycle
Writing from a position of strength and independence, Kelsey Hayes is an Ottawa based singer-songwriter who takes the listener on a journey of love, longing, and betrayal. Drawing on her own lived experience, she combines heartbreak with her own unique style of jazz-pop, creating a genuine and soulful sound. Beginning as a vocalist, Hayes branched out early on into writing her own material. She released her debut EP to a sold-out crowd at Ottawa’s own Mercury Lounge in Fall 2015. When she is not performing, Kelsey is a prominent member of the student body that comprises Carleton University’s singer-songwriter program through which she was honoured as the 2015 winner of the Musik Ottawa competition. This past summer, Kelsey played shows at Ottawa's Bluesfest and Cityfolk Festival.
Sam Loaker is a singer songwriter from Norwich, England. For years, Sam toured up and down the country playing with acts such as Ed Sheeran and Josh Weller (from The Kenneths). Now living in Canada, Sam has started playing music again, releasing a 3 song EP. Now with a second EP ready, Sam is touring Ontario to see who wants to listen to songs that sound something like nursery rhymes for adults.
