The Royal North:
With a unique blend of guitar driven 80's rock, modern pop and a healthy dose of Canadiana, the Royal North are heavy on melody, guitar solos, and big drums. The recordings from Soundmill Studios by engineer Jon Matthews compliment the band's nod to the music that inspires them- Canadian rock music.
Dennis Ellsworth is a prolific songwriter. Lately he’s gotten into rhythm of writing, recording and releasing an album a year. In between records, he travels around the planet singing songs characterized by a kind of dark optimism that’s informed by early influences such as Roy Orbison, Neil Diamond and Kris Kristofferson.
Long ago -- on a dark and stormy night in a local grocery store’s produce department, Mike revealed his fancy for poetry, lyrics, and music. Little did he know, one Dawson Doyle lurked behind the melons, listening to the words Mike spewing from Mike’s mouth hole.
Soon enough, Mike uncovered Dawson’s magicianship avec a guitar. Upon this discovery the two met in the dwellings of Mike’s parent's house, and without speaking a word to each other began to write songs.
After some recruitment, a couple of line-up changes, and horse feathers - Lost Acres appeared from the foggy horizons on a suicide mission to save rock and roll from the murky swamps while adding a jang to the music.
