Live Music
It's a Hootenanny!
at LIVE! on Elgin
Featuring Better Living Through Chemistry, Countdown to Earplugs, Red Light Run
Better Living Through Chemistry:
Better Living Through Chemistry are a straight up rock band, with clever lyrics and catchy hooks. They have a bad case of broken strings, cracked cymbals, and buzzing mics. Schooled in the alternative music scene of the 80s and 90s, this band wears their influences (The Replacements, Faith No More, R.E.M., & Soul Asylum, (among many others) on their collective sleeves...like badges of honour.

Countdown to Earplugs:
Countdown 2 Earplugs is an exhilarating rock n’ roll experience that will leave you breathless and swooning! C2E write all their own songs because all previous songs are just not good enough. Guitar, Bass, Drums and a whole lot of heck-yeah and sock-it-to-ya. If the guitar solos don’t completely melt your face off, then you’ll be glad you still have your face so you can sing along to the zealous, fervent and uniquely apropos vocals while you dance and clap to drums that hit you like a hockey fight. Compared to a Plugs show, all other shows feel like a visit with the in-laws.

Red Light Run:
The year is 2056...war has been ongoing between the factions...a bomb rocks the library...Richard is trapped under a pile of books and must survive on leftover music from Wilco, The Replacements, and MJ Lenderman. At the same time Marco is bitten...again, but this time it's a radioactive spider making his guitar ever louder. Paul has been arrested by the thought police.... again. He has been sentenced to learn all of Jody Stephens drum fills on harmonica. Craig is stuck in a Rocky training montage with Motorhead playing on a loop. He's late for band practice... again. A Red Light flares on the horizon. Time to Run.... again.
